My latest Tid Bits

Catching up on my tid bits

Me...a few years ago....(few...lol)

"BREAKUP"

Someone stole my Mommy
Then someone stole my Dad
And I was sad
Then I got mad
Then each had little families
Buy I felt all alone
Always looking in
What should have been my
Own
They bounced me back and forth
Just like a little ball
Not really in their circle's
Nope. Never.. Not at all
I feel so very helpless
but sometimes I am free
Cuz I have special Grammas
I know...They just love ME!

When you start using your hands and arms to get up from a chair. You are on a down hill slide!
Don't do it!

Hard boiled egg dilemma?

My last dozen had shells of steel, I swear!

I started peeling them with a sharp knife and was wasting a lot of the whites. Then I thought, these are ice cold, cold contracts and heat expands, I put them, one at a time in boiling water and the shell was easy to peel!

Here it is, you lucky people!

My Delicious Brownie Recipe!

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt two sticks of salted butter in a heavy two quart pan.

Melt butter slowly.
Once pan is warm remove from burner as it will melt.
DO NOT SCORTCH OR BURN THE BUTTER!

Add 1/2 cup cocoa to melted butter. Stir well.
(I use imported cocoa)

Add one cup dark brown sugar to butter/cocoa mixture.
Stir
Add one cup white sugar and mix thoroughly.
--------------------------
In four quart bowl, beat 4 eggs with large fork until well mixed.
Add 1 teaspoon salt.
Add 1 Tablespoon imitation vanilla.
(Only use imitation vanilla)

Now add the cocoa/sugar mixture to the egg mixture

Stir well.
Now add 1 cup raw Pecans
(I use pecan halves)
Add 1 cup bakers shredded coconut
Stir.
Finally add 1 and 1/2 cups white all purpose flour.
Stir well...it will be hard to stir)

Butter generously a 9 x 13 cake pan. (Lightly salt the buttered pan)

Pour the thick batter into cake pan and spread evenly.

Bake on center oven shelf at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes until butter knife comes out clean . (Test cake in several places in center)

Do NOT frost these delicious Brownies! They need NO frosting!

(I did not forget soda or baking powder---- they do not need them)

Enjoy

"GONE"

"Gone"

I sit here all lonely and lost
At what cost?
I tried to be brave
Pretend I was able
 to act somewhat stable
When ground crumbled
Sad heart rumbled
Tears were blinding
Never finding
Where we left off
I couldn't remember
That day in September
We shared the dawn
I blinked my eyes
And you were gone...

JB

JB

Your voice is like a  silken strand
Embracing one with
Desire that feeds passion.
The strength of  your maleness
Wrapping round...
Leaving one breathless
Not remembering what was said..
Just the hypnotic rhythm
That takes ones mind
To places unvisited before
And wanting to
 Return again...again

Yeah...Uh Huh!

Yeah...Uh Huh!
When you get old,
life plays with you,
like a cat
with a half
 dead
 mouse.

Kesti says it.

WHY?

WHY?
Why do we always
Reach out to those
Who already
Have their hands full?

'Writer's Block'

'Writers Block'

Some days it is just impossible to write.
Impossible to explain just how sad you feel.
How all plans have disappeared...how you no
longer think flowers are pretty or
clouds appear whiter than snow...how you feel
you can trip over a line drawn on the floor....
this is one of those days...

'Looking Back'

       'Looking Back'

I have time to sit and ponder

To let my mind just wander
Up the hills
And down the vales of life

I acknowledge every new event
Knowing all were heaven sent
Lessons needed
Bringing Joy or strife

Babies were my focus bright
I prayed for each one every night
And God blessed all with gifts untold
As days flew by, the memories hold

No one knows how much we give
Just thankful for the life we live
My last wish before I rest
Is that God knows
I did my best.

'My Future'

'My Future'

A sad, sad train
Chugging through
The rain
Carrying all the pain
No more restrain
Shrinking my brain
Erasing the stain
Caused  by hurt and the chain
That's  hard to explain
Walk down memory lane
And try to stay sane.

ALONE

Alone

There was no time to say "Goodbye"
But he kept saying he loved me
So I think he knew.
My precious one.
God gave me 47 years with him
But I wanted more.
For he was my life
One moment here, the next gone
Yes, it happens that fast.
Treasure the seconds
For no one knows when God
Will call them home.
I will treasure the memories
Until I meet him  again on the other side.
(He said he will come to meet me
so I won't be afraid)

"Life's Reward:

'Life's Reward'

I have seen the sparks of love
And felt the shards of hate
I have raced impatient Time
And never was I late.
I have given all I had
To right the wrongs of fate
I did not grasp the Golden Ring
The Reaper's at my gate!

TORN

Torn
The pieces blowing
Across the desert floor
Made no sense
Bits of this and that
Not that it mattered any more.
Though what ends just begins again
Love will grow and flourish
Find a path and think it's right
Beaten down then rising once again
To fool the night.
Waves of darkness...peaks of light.
Never losing sight
The demands of life
Breathing in and out
No matter the plight.
Solace comes in purple robes
Insight.

Clarity

Clarity

Clarity is the gift
Of peace
For if you know
The truth
All is possible.
Pretense is the dynamite
Fused to destroy
Whatever is built
With hope and trust.

'LIFE"S TANGLE'

"LiFE'S TANGLES'

It gets all twisted
At times.
You must try to untangle it
Before it gets worse.
There are knots to deal with
You may need a sharp object
To loosen them.
When it seems impossible
You want to give up
Throw them in a corner
Cover your eyes and just scream!
One day you wake up.
You are  really old!
The tangles are still in the corner
Covered in cobwebs.
You are too weak to pick them up.
Your memory is partly gone
Not sure what caused them
In the first place.
Let me think.
Oh yeah...
I didn't live up to their expectations!
Now, all those cry babies are old.
Life is fair, after all!

"Winds"

WINDS

The winds of time accelerate
Whipping into a tornado
Pulling all the hurt and pain
From our minds our soul
And our bodies.
Now relieved of all that's sad
We sit and rock
Staring out a window
Wondering the purpose
Wondering the strife
Wondering if God
Observed our strange life....

A Lesson from Nature

A Lesson from Nature

A soft stillness quiets
all disturbing thoughts
Hope filters in
The birds are chirping
At this early hour
They sound happy
And busy.
They have no time
To dwell on past sorrows
When their babies grow up
The parents fly away and expect
Their babies
To make it on their own.
Birds are awesome!

Great Gramma isn't fun Any more

"Great Gramma"
Great Gramma isn't fun any more
She never has parties for us
Never seems to want us over
No more cards with money
No gifts... no babysitting
Doesn't even want to be called "Gramma"
Says it denotes  responsibility
Another strange thing
We can't make her cry
No matter how much we try
She just does her thing...
Writes poems, makes herbal concoctions
Goes to the Casino with Gramps
Not a care in the world...
What the heck is wrong with her?
