       'Looking Back'

I have time to sit and ponder

To let my mind just wander

Up the hills

And down the vales of life

I acknowledge every new event

Knowing all were heaven sent

Lessons needed

Bringing Joy or strife

Babies were my focus bright

I prayed for each one every night

And God blessed all with gifts untold

As days flew by, the memories hold

 No one knows how much we give

Just thankful for the life we live

My last wish before I rest

Is that God knows

I did my best.

A sad, sad train

Chugging through

The rain

Carrying all the pain

No more restrain

Shrinking my brain

Erasing the stain

Caused  by hurt and the chain

That's  hard to explain

Walk down memory lane

And try to stay sane.

Alone

There was no time to say "Goodbye"

But he kept saying he loved me

So I think he knew.

My precious one.

God gave me 47 years with him

But I wanted more.

For he was my life

One moment here, the next gone

Yes, it happens that fast.

Treasure the seconds

For no one knows when God

Will call them home.

I will treasure the memories

Until I meet him  again on the other side.

(He said he will come to meet me

so I won't be afraid)

I have raced impatient Time

And never was I late.

I have given all I had

To right the wrongs of fate

I did not grasp the Golden Ring

The Reaper's at my gate!

The pieces blowing 

Across the desert floor

Made no sense

Bits of this and that

Not that it mattered any more.

Though what ends just begins again

Love will grow and flourish 

Find a path and think it's right

Beaten down then rising once again

To fool the night.

Waves of darkness...peaks of light.

Never losing sight

The demands of life

Breathing in and out

No matter the plight.

Solace comes in purple robes

Insight.
