'Song of Sadness'

'Song of Sadness'

Few would get to say goodbye

Fewer had a chance to cry

When the plane came

Crashing from the sky.

Thousands of Souls who just couldn't stay

In the flash of hellish heat that day

As the buildings shuddered

and melted away.

The evil deeds done

As the bright morning sun

Saw the hearts from us all

Torn apart ...One by one.

Our nation shocked

Our foundation rocked

As we reached for each other

Our hearts and hands locked.

Just when our hope for survivors did pale

From out of the Rubble we heard a huge wail

Don't let our deaths e'er be in vain.

"Justice and Freedom and Love must Prevail"

'The Attack'

Sadness permeates our land

as the dust cloud creeps into

every conscious mind.

Sadness for the losses and sadness

for the evil that lurks in shadows.

Sadness for the children whose parents

Won't be coming home.

Sadness for all whose lives have been devastated.

Sadness for our loss of

the feeling of security.

Mixed with that sadness is the pride

in those who gave their lives trying to save others....

in those who are still helping

in those who gave blood....and financial gifts

to in some way ease the pain of this

horrible unexpected attack on our country.

In those who helped others find their way

out of crumbling buildings.

In the volunteers cleaning up rubble...tending to

the injured...keeping order...

In those who gave food and water to the helpless and the helpers.

In those of the news media who are in danger in order to

keep us aware of what is going on.

In those who are counseling any in need...

helping each other to get through this tragedy.

Dear Father in heaven....

I pray that we will not see a tragedy like this again...

that You will heal the injured...comfort those who have lost loved ones...

help us all to cope...help us to let go of petty grievances

and work together to mend the aftermath and sorrow

that sliced so unexpectedly

from the sky.

Help our leaders to use good judgement in seeking out the

people responsible and to guide our

leaders in how to resolve this tragedy.

May we become a stronger and wiser nation...

May we work together as one......

may we give confidence to our youth that this too will be overcome.

We must erase the hate that spawns this kind of revenge...

Help us in all of this... dear Lord...In Jesus name...Amen
