I used to love them, now I hate them. E-mails!
First of all, when someone is on the computer they have so many things to do, that for most, emails are a big pain. Conversing through emails is impossible. Depending on the mood of the recipient, it may be interpreted wrongly and often is. No one wants to hear about the
"drama" in another's life. It is also a document that can be saved forever, printed out, and sent to others in a split second. I wonder if an eCard has ever been received without someone thinking, "how cheap can they get?" I think emails are destroying society. We are now in too much of a hurry to be considerate of others. Cell phones, text messages, all electronic means of communication are sending millions of messages every minute all around the world. It is worse than empty silence by far. It is a mix of soup that has no flavor. It is running in place and getting nowhere. People are upset if they get too many or too few. Addicting to some.
Death knell for others. Who needs the stress? E-mails should have a return to sender, unopened like snail mail. Then no one would make fools of themselves by irritating others. You can delete them but it is not the same. It isn't even fair to those waiting for an answer.
If you have a need to write your problems down, just make up a name and write to him or her in a word program.
I promise, they will not take offense, get attitudes, get angry, or any of the downside reactions that some emails cause.
The electronic age has us spinning into oblivion. I am getting out while I can. If you email me about this post, watch for a return to sender in your box.
;)
