'Depression’

'Depression’

Take me back to my illusions

When I thought I was special

When I thought I was needed

When I thought I was doing the right things

When I thought I knew God.

When I thought that if you did it right

it would turn out all right.

When old age seemed remote.

When I got excited about baby birds.

When I thought dogs were necessary.

When I thought I looked kinda cute.

When commercials didn’t aggravate me.

When I saw a sparkle in my love’s

eyes when he saw me.

When it was fun to cook and bake.

When I brought flowers into the house.

When I loved to go shopping.

When mushrooms that popped up

in the yard overnight

sent me running for my camera.

When I cared if my car was clean.

When I used to put on makeup every day.

When I enjoyed going to the theatre.

When I actually planned to bake an apple pie.

When I loved to laugh.

When I didn’t feel all sad and lonely inside.

When I had energy to burn.

When I could run with ease.

When I got down on the floor

to play with kids.

When I thought a rainbow was a special miracle

When seeing a bluebird made my day.

When going on vacation

wasn’t a killing proposition.

When I still needed things to buy.

When renting a movie was a big deal.

When washing my car was fun.

When I enjoyed dancing.

When a nap refreshed me.

When I gave fresh baked goods

to my neighbors for no reason.

When I could write with enthusiasm

and enjoyed reading the finished article.

I think I am dead...

The Blue Note

"The Blue Note"

A five year old boy came
home from kindergarten
so happy
that his teacher had given
him a blue note to take home.

He excitedly got it from his
backpack and said proudly,
"My teacher gave this
blue note to me!"

His Mom read the note saying
her son had not been paying
attention in class.
She had to tell him that the
"Blue Note" was not a good
thing.
His face saddened.
Life is hard.

Command~Relax

Command~Relax

OK..I came up with this idea from
watching a dog on the Dave
Letterman show. Watch it and then
I will explain.

That video is not only funny, but it
shows how a dog can be trained
to completely relax on command.

You can train yourself to do this.

I know that one of my problems is that
I am "up tight" most of the time. This
causes health problems and discomfort
for me. Stress is a big killer as we all
know.

Soooo...I started to train myself to relax.
On command. When I feel my neck tighten
Pain in my lower back from trapped gas,
pain in any part of my body, headaches,
indigestion, you name it, I think,

Command~RELAX!

In that instant I have learned to become as
limp as that dog on the video . Talk about
a simple solution to a multitude of problems!!

This command will help you in traffic, sleep
problems, headaches, ever so many things.
I am serious. We all need to learn a
Command~Relax~Response

Just try it. You will thank me.

Swedish Potato Flat Bread Recipe

Swedish Potato Flat Bread Recipe

(my Mom's recipe)

(Two Loaves)

Make and set aside..

2 tsp sugar

2 tsp yeast

1/2 cup warm water

Boil 4 medium potatoes in salted water..

just enough to cover.

Mash pot and add water to make two cups total.

Make sure this is just lukewarm

so it won't kill the yeast.

In Bowl put potato water...the yeast mix

1 TBLSP salt 1/4 cup sugar...

1/4 cup soft butter

Three cups of flour...mix and

add 2 1/2 to 3 more cups of flour slowly

until dough feels "alive"!

Knead....rise...knead...flatten...shape two loaves

(kinda round and flat.....

let rise a little..then poke

about six holes in it with a finger

from each hand.....

stretching two fingers outward

to make fairly large holes.

Toss some flour on cookie sheet

Place loaves on flour and bake 350º

for 35 min or until nice and brown...

Sometimes I bake them at 375º

Cool on rack...slice while hot and butter ...enjoy.
