Attention Parents

ATTENTION PARENTS!
When your child is on the computer and you want to tell him or her something, do not think that it is going to register in their brain. You must first make them look right at you. Then you give them the message. Then you have them write it down on a piece of paper. No, not on their computer, a real piece of paper. This will give you a much greater chance to make sure they at least heard you. The same applies to adults on the computer. If you don't believe me, tell them something, go back in a few minutes and see if they have a clue as to what you said.
The computer world is a whole different world. It can make you concentrate like nothing else. But only on IT!
The rest of the world doesn't really exist.
If you can be on the computer and still focus accurately on something else, you are either a genius or are only half listening and giving boring answers to the human talking to you. It is more like, mmm hmmm, Oh,,kewol.
Know anyone like that?
The reason I was inspired to write this, is that I know of a ten year old who was punished by his Father unfairly because of not listening while on the computer. Maybe he will read this and learn something.
I would like to test his responses when he plays his own video games!!! (          ) <-----this space is reserved for what I said when I found out how he punished him. It is not something I would want to put into print. Hope you will treat your children with understanding and make sure the punishment fits the crime. Kes©2007
